Detailed text prepared by the Mexican Government on the first four years of the Bracero Program, the agreement between the United States and Mexico, established in 1942 and lasting to 1964, which "braceros" or manual laborers to take on short-term contracts in the U.S. to make up for labor shortages. The present text is rich both quantitatively and qualitatively, including statistical graphs and figures as well as interviews with several braceros who had participated in the program and returned to Mexico.
