First edition. 16mo (6" x 5"); 92pp; red blind-stamped boards, fillets and corner ornaments enclosing a gilt-stamped vignette of a girl in a garden on front, gilt-stamped lettering on front; blind stamped rear board, decorative gilt-stamped floral vining on spine; cream eps, gift inscription on ffep; authors name on last page; scuffing to head and tail of spine with fraying, corners scuffed with loss, light scattered foxing; very good plus. OCLC locates 4 copies of this first edition.

A children's story by "Adaliza" Perry, although her name is misspelled on page 92. It is likely that the correct spelling of her first name is with an "e" as the third letter. Adeliza Perry (1822-1901) was a schoolteacher and author working in Worcester, Massachusetts. She also served as a nurse under Dorothea Dix during the Civil War. (WIKI page).
