New York, New York, 1944. Very good. Light dust soiling. Some staining from tape used on mesh window.. A WWII-era notice from the proprietor of a business, addressing the New York Police Department and customers: "This window conforms with local blackout regulations. We wish our customers a Merry Christmas and trust the New Year is brighter". It is signed by the proprietor, "August Schallack". Printed on card bifolium (5" by 6.5") with a window cut-out in the upper leaf with black mesh to mimic "blackout" conditions. New York City enacted "Blackout Regulations" in the 1940s to obscure the city's skyline from the enemy in WWII.
