NY: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1929. With an original drawing by Angelo. Hardcover. Very good. Octavo. 253pp. Twelve full-page illustrations by Angelo depict some of the more comical moments in Sterne's novel. Accompanying this copy is Angelo's original drawing for the image at page 144, "And as for the Bastile!," which shows the narrator surprised by a starling upon the formidable grating of the prison. Includes Angelo's signature and editorial notes. Volume bound in blue cloth over boards with gilt titling and decoration. Text block minimally shaken, corners bumped, some rubs to extremities, else a clean, bright interior and very good in good dust wrapper. Drawing in ink and wash on board, which shows some overall soiling and spotting from likely adhesive residue.
