Barley's scandalous story of wifely dissatisfaction, crime, punishment, and murder receives drypoints throughout by Hodgkins, including frontispiece and title page. As with the deluxe edition, loose leaves are held in four-flap portfolio affixed to rear board. Printed on handmade paper. Bound in full vellum over boards with Hodgkins's design to front cover and slightly toned spine with titling in gilt. A fine edition, and a near fine copy thereof, by a fine London press. Housed in slipcase.
