A possibly complete run in 15 issues of the Spanish Civil War cultural magazine, approximately 24 pp. per issue, profusely illustrated. Quarto (10 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches). Original side-stapled illustrated wrappers. Some dust-staining, soiling, and toning to covers, light handling wear, some light consistent toning to interiors of a few issues, interiors mostly clean and bright, overall very good. Sevilla: Raimundi Blanco, 1936-1938. The premiere issue of España opens with this address to the reader: "Pretendemos dar existencia, en Sevilla, a un periódico ilustrado.

The magazine was led by director Narciso Espinosa de los Monteros, editor in chief Manuel Gomez Moreno, and artistic director Juan M. Sanchez. The issues contained a wide variety of contributions including: poetry; photoessays on daily life, church architecture and artwork, and the military; prose; highlights of cultural life including fashion, sports and athletes, interiors, fine art, and the cinema; reporting from the war particularly from the Nationalist side; and informative articles on topics such as chemical warfare, piracy, La Giralda, nationalism, the legality of gold-mining by the Banco de España, tuberculosis, capitalism and corporations, the history of radio, the military movement in Sevilla, leprosy, and other topics. Each issue also has several pages of advertisements for a wide variety of businesses in Sevilla.

Extremely scarce; as of May 2026, OCLC shows two incomplete holdings of this title at libraries in Spain. The Universidad de Sevilla holds issues no. 1 through no. 12, lacking no. 9, and the Hemeroteca Municipal de Madrid shows scattered holdings for issues no. 1 through no. 14. We could find no other listing with a holding of 15 or more issues.
