[JUVENILE] [POETRY] [ILLUSTRATED]. 4to (10 ½" x 9"); [8] leaves including 6 chromolithographed plates; stiff glazed yellow wrapper, front wrapper printed in color featuring lettering bordered by an arch decorated with plants; rear wrapper has publisher's ads; verse printed one side only; light soiling and wear to wrapper, old home repair to spine with tan cloth and top stitching; interior bright with some offsetting to facing page; very good. OCLC locates only two copies, one at AAS and the other at Winterthur. A third title at Harvard has a pink paper wrapper.

A six-part, rhyming, epic poem, beautifully illustrated with chromolithographed plates, tells the story of Master Mousie's supper party, his family, and what happened at the supper party. Part VI is titled "How Mousie-Powsie, Seeing All His Guests Around Him, Became Somewhat Boastful, and How His Bragging Was Taken Out of Him—Which is Also the Moral of This Story."

The rear wrapper features publisher's ads for Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management, Nursery Picture Gallery and Child's Own Picture Colour Book, Master Mousie's Supper Party, and Nursery Songs and Ballads.
