A striking vignette portrait of an American Indian man, likely Nez Perce, in western dress, taken by turn-of-the-century Idaho photographer Everett G. Cummings. Cummings operated a studio with his brother in Lewiston, Idaho, during the early 1890s, and then under his own name from 1900 to 1902. The present photograph emanates from this second period.
